YALETOWN LOOKS EVEN BETTER ON CAMERA

With character-filled streets, heritage buildings, and a distinctly modern edge, Yaletown is one of Vancouver’s most dynamic filming locations. Whether it’s a feature, commercial, or passion project, we’re here to help your shoot run smoothly, and look incredible.

BEFORE YOU ROLL

Yaletown is a busy, lived-in neighbourhood, and that energy is part of what makes it special.

  • We recommend avoiding filming Thursday through Saturday, as these are the neighbourhood’s busiest days.
  • Notify nearby residents and businesses in advance.
  • Be mindful of patios, shops, and residents.

We are here to help coordinate notices, answer questions, and support a seamless shoot.

GET THE GREEN LIGHT

Filming in Yaletown takes a little teamwork. You’ll need approval from the City, along with support from the BIA—and nothing’s locked in until your application has been reviewed. You can find the City’s Film Guidelines here.

One more thing: parking. It’s a bit of a hot topic around here, and it can make or break your permit. Do yourself a favour, and check out our Filming Parking Guidelines before you apply.

LOAD IN/OUT & PARKING

Yaletown parking is tight. Please plan ahead.

  • Review our Filming Parking Guidelines for recommended areas, loading zones, and off-street facilities suited to production vehicles.
  • Reach out early to discuss parking needs.
  • Keep entrances, patios, and walkways clear.
  • Use off-street parking whenever possible.
  • Street closures require City and VPD approval.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, COURTESY

A little consideration goes a long way.

  • Provide at least 3 days’ notice to nearby businesses and residents.
  • Be mindful of noise and lighting.
  • Work around business hours where possible.

KEEP YALETOWN CAMERA-READY

Yaletown looks great on camera because we work to keep it that way. Productions are encouraged to make a voluntary donation to the Yaletown BIA Beautification Fund.
