The Yaletown BIA exists to make the neighbourhood the best it can be — and that's good for everyone in it. Our mission is to position Yaletown as Vancouver's go-to destination for dining, shopping, and exploring, because a neighbourhood people love is a neighbourhood where businesses thrive.

As a member, you are not just operating in Yaletown — you are backed by an organization that advocates for your interests, markets the neighbourhood year-round, invests in the public realm, and works hard to keep Yaletown at the top of everyone's list. From economic development and policy advocacy to events that fill the streets, everything we do is designed to drive foot traffic, build community, and create the kind of neighbourhood that people go out of their way to visit.

The Yaletown BIA is a non-profit funded by commercial properties within the official BIA boundary. Each year, the board determines programming and budget priorities, and members vote at the Annual General Meeting — keeping everything we do entirely member-driven.

Member Services

The Yaletown BIA provides a collective, unified voice for our business district. Since 1999, we’ve supported over 800 businesses, helping to create a neighbourhood that is dynamic, welcoming, and distinctly Yaletown.

Our efforts are organized into four key pillars:

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

  • Collaborate with the City on policies, bylaws, and planning.
  • Support pro-business initiatives (e.g., extended hours, zoning protection).
  • Address operational needs like parking, waste, and day-to-day issues.
  • Represent Yaletown businesses and ensure their voice is heard.

  • Develop and execute campaigns that drive awareness and foot traffic.
  • Spotlight member businesses through storytelling and targeted promotions.
  • Maintain an active social media and digital presence.

Safety shapes experience. To ensure Yaletown remains clean, welcoming, and secure, we work alongside the City, local partners, and our member businesses to:

  • Provide on-site private security.
  • Partner with the Vancouver Police Department on street-level safety.
  • Coordinate graffiti removal.
