Against The Grain: Opening Reception

See one material take two completely different forms at the opening reception for Against the Grain, Kostuik Gallery’s duo exhibition that explores different approaches to carved wood through the work of sculptors Katja Zubkova and Marianne Lovink.

Zubkova transforms personal history into binary-coded wood sculptures, often finished in bold colour. Lovink draws on four decades of practice to explore repetition, pattern and organic form through meticulously carved works.

Meet both artists during the public reception and hear directly from them during an artist talk at 6:15 PM. The exhibition continues through October 11.
